About CASIC

The Center for Advanced Semiconductors and Integrated Circuits (CASIC) at The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is dedicated to establishing HKU as an internationally leading hub for research in semiconductor devices and integrated circuits.

Our mission is to achieve globally recognized excellence across areas including wide-bandgap and ultrawide-bandgap devices and ICs for millimeter-wave and power electronics, advanced semiconductor logic and memory technologies, sensing and communication devices, and analog/mixed-signal digital ICs for computing, sensing and communication. We also focus on hardware architectures, photonic integrated circuits, MEMS, EDA, and semiconductor manufacturing tools and technology.

We identify and attract global talent in collaboration with relevant departments and faculties, supporting recruitment of experts in device design, simulation and modeling, and hardware architectures. We facilitate research collaboration and technology transfer with industry partners and actively pursue funding from industrial collaborators.
